John Houghton
John has nine years’ experience of supporting local authorities, LSPs and other bodies to develop and implement regeneration strategies and programmes to tackle inequality.
He has worked with local authorities through the national LAA PLUS network to identify how they can best deliver their LAA outcomes.
He has worked with NDCs and national bodies like the MLA to identify how to deliver improved outcomes through better involvement of residents and service users.
At Si, John has led on the development of a number of online tools, including the GO Places Handbook and the HCA Academy Sustainable Communities Spotlight.
Before joining Si, John was the Community Empowerment and Third Sector Team Leader at CLG, where he was responsible for community engagement policy, including the CEN performance management framework.
John is also an experienced facilitator and interviewer and has sourced and written up case studies for a range of clients including the IDeA.
Outside of work, John has practical experience of involving people in local governance. He is currently the co-chair of his ‘Local Area Partnership’, a member of his London borough’s LSP and a trustee of the Urban Forum.
