Evaluation

Policy makers and programme/project sponsors require robust evidence of the impact of their activities and investment. Central and local government, regional development agencies, and local partnerships want to know “what works” as part of the resource allocation process.

Si works with partners to undertake evaluations as a critical learning tools to inform policy and delivery. Our evaluations:

  • validate achievements;
  • establish value for money;
  • improve service delivery;
  • identify lessons for the future; and
  • embed a learning culture.

Our evaluations employ robust research methodologies, often involving theory of change or logic framework approaches to provide a rigorous intellectual framework. We design our evaluations to capture impacts and both hard and soft outcomes, for beneficiaries, organisations and the wider community. This includes: measuring project and programme outcomes; exploring the effectiveness of delivery systems; and monitoring progress and impact on local priorities as well as national targets. We also benchmark programmes and projects against contemporary local and national initiatives to draw out good practice.
